Guitar tutor position

We are seeking a passionate and experienced guitar tutor at our busy music centre. We have a dedicated team of over 40 tutors teaching over 1000 students a year.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individual guitar lessons to students of various skill levels at our music centre and potentially in local schools
• Teach students a range of music genres on electric and acoustic guitar
• Teach graded music syllabi if appropriate to the student, ensuring progress is in line with their ability and lessons are engaging
• Provide supporting material with sight-reading, aural skills and theory
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and any concerns through our parent portal
• Follow our safeguarding policy and those of the local schools as appropriate

The ideal candidate will have:
• Music conservatoire or college degree in performance
• Previous music tutoring
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching music
• Enhanced DBS (required, we can assist with this if necessary)
• Safeguarding in music education training (required, can be provided)

Job Type: Self-employed part-time tutor
Pay: £32 per hour
Schedule: After school hours from 3.30pm and/or weekends at the music centre and potentially day time at local schools
